This lovely Mabel Lucie Attwell bathroom poem hanging sign by Valentine & Sons recently sold at auction for £30 Wessex Auction Rooms in April 2022. Although it has a bit of rust it is still quite delightful.
The sign shows a young boy all ready to go for his bath, in his bathrobe ready with soap and scrubbing brush.
The message in the sign reads:
Please Remember – Don’t Forget
Never Leave the Bathroom Wet
Nor Leave the Soap Still in the Water
That’s a Thing We Never Ought’er
Nor Leave the Towels About the Floor
Nor Keep the Bath an Hour or More
When Other Folks are Wanting One
Please Don’t Forget – It Isn’t Done
