This 1930s Shelley Pottery Fairies Series Trio by Mabel Lucie Attwell including baby’s plate, cup and saucer, each with printed backstamp and RD No.709690 verso appeared at Lacy Scott & Knight’s March auction.
The 3 piece set sold for £40.
The baby’s plate shows a girl sitting down and playing with Fairies.
The text on the plate reads:
Fairies here Fairies there.
Dancing round on bright green ground.
Chubby Charlie and neat little Nan.
Try and catch them if you can.
Fairies everywhere.
